WE UNDERSTAND!

"For we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures,
living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another. But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration  [new birth] and renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.  This is a faithful saying, and these things   I want you to affirm constantly, that those who have believed in God should be careful to maintain good works.
These things are good and profitable
to men."

Titus 3:3-8 NKJV

THE MOST EXCELLENT WAY IS LOVE (with Ten Attitudes)
HOW TO HELP YOUR ADDICTED ADULT CHILD Don't Be a Co-Dependant

LOVE, ACCEPTANCE & FORGIVENESS

The quality of love we desire to share is God’s agape—the ability to accept and forgive one another just as God, the Father, accepts and forgives us because of our faith in Jesus, His Son.

“The Most Excellent Way” is to:

  • Be reconciled to God through Jesus.
  • Grow in faith and knowledge of Christ.
  • Gain a better understanding of the sin nature that leads to addiction and obsessive, self-centered behavior.
  • Learn and apply Biblical principles for living joy-filled, productive lives.
  • Provide support to those desiring freedom from drug and alcohol dependency, and other self-gratifying behavior.
  • Pray for one another.
  • Love one another.

Jesus said:  “A new command I give you:  Love one another.
As I have loved you, so you must love one another.
All men will know that you are My disciples if you love one another.”
John 13:34-35 NIV

We accept one another just as we are — committed Christian or backslider, sober or stoned, reverent or obnoxious, clean or dirty.  Anyone desiring freedom from addiction and compulsive behavior is welcomed into “The Most Excellent Way” by the grace of God.

"We love because He first loved us.”  I John 4:19 NIV

SUPPORT / FELLOWSHIP MEETINGS

“The Most Excellent Way” Support/Fellowship Meetings are held weekly, with God’s Word as our sole authority, Jesus Christ as our only power, and His Holy Spirit as our only guide.

Many participants have attended A.A. and Al-Anon meetings, and come to “The Most Excellent Way” seeking an environment in which to freely express their faith in Jesus.  Others are backslidden Christians, timid and shame-faced, who God draws back.  Unbelievers come and find genuine love, peer support, Christ and eternal hope and salvation.

FAMILY & FRIENDS SUPPORT/FELLOWSHIP MEETINGS help spouses, parents and “adult children” to stop trying to control, fix and blame their dependent loved ones for their own misery.  They receive loving support and learn how others are becoming GOD-dependent:  the process of taking personal responsibility for their thoughts, attitudes and actions in order to change their turbulent lifestyles.
